About Amy

Amy is a consummate professional, and a true horse woman. Her attention to detail to provide impeccable care of the horses and students. Amy provides a fun and friendly atmosphere while teaching classical equestrian training and horsemanship from the ground up.

She educates with compassion and honesty, fostering a love for learning and the development of horsemanship skills from the ground up.

Beginning as a professional soon after high school, working at the stables riding and teaching beginner lessons in Hawai’i, I then had the opportunity to work for the Karazissis family at their Far West Farms, a top show stables in Calabassas, California. Beginning as a working student, then moving up into riding, training and showing professionally. It was there that my passion for teaching students was really ignited. Once returning home to Hawai’i, I began my own riding and training program and completed the United States Hunter Jumper Association’s trainer certification program, becoming Hawai’i’s first, and only, USHJA certified riding instructor. In 2020, I began the “Pony School” for young aspiring riders to have the opportunity to learn the basics of riding and horsemanship before purchasing a horse of their own. It has been, and continues to be, my highest priority to teach at the highest level and provide safe quality lesson horses to my group of dedicated students.

Through my community involvement I look forward to continuing to help grow the sport in Hawai’i by developing riders as well as bringing educational opportunities to the Islands with horse shows and clinics.
